Your Home in Tygh Valley

North Central Oregon Accommodations

Our Central Oregon accommodations welcomes up to 10 guests, offering rooms that blend rustic charm with subtle comforts. Bookings are for the entire lodge, which includes access to private White River frontage, a designated beach area reserved for guests, a small fruit orchard, multiple decks and outdoor “living rooms,” and seasonal gardens located on the property.  Within walking distance of the lodge, there’s also a 100-plus year-old general store that is occasionally open to Redband guests, exclusively. Please contact us in advance if you are interested in a brief tour or arranging access during your stay. Although we highlight features and the story behind each room in the lodge, we do not offer booking for individual rooms.

The Grass Valley Room

A private room located at the far East end of the second floor, features a comfy Queen bed, electric fireplace, a shared hallway full bath, and an in-room vanity/sink area. Along with some of the catwalk and second floor loft/TV area, the flooring in this room is constructed of hand-planed wood from a 1942 Grass Valley grain elevator. Grass Valley, established in 1878, is a gorgeous drive from Redband Lodge, only 38 min (29.3 mi) via OR-216 E. We highly recommend it. If you stand in the main first floor living room area, look up: you’ll find the blue lumber crayon markings “5/31/1942” that date the flooring planks on the second floor.

The Lost Valley Room

A restful middle room with skylight, located on the second floor, features a queen bed, electric fireplace, a shared hallway full bath, and an in-room vanity/sink area. This room also features a hand-painted mural, behind a secret door, of a lost valley hand-painted by Oregon artist, David Kinker. The Ponderosa Pine log walls and exposed beams used throughout Redband Lodge were hand-selected on private property in Lost Valley, Oregon, by master builder, Ky Williams. Nothing was “clear cut” to build Redband Lodge. Logs were selected for shape, character, and color (notice the logs in the kitchen ceiling joists).

The Moses Lake Room

A cozy bunk room, located on the West end of the second floor, features four twin beds, armoire, electric fireplace, a shared hallway full bath, and an in-room vanity/sink area. The flooring in this room is constructed of hand-planed wood from the owner’s great grandparents’ 1901 farm. The second-floor hallway “catwalk” flooring and paneling also was salvaged from the homestead site, which is still a working wheat, alfalfa, and hay farm in Moses Lake.

The Blue Mountain Suite

Located on the first floor, the Blue Mountain features a queen bed, spacious armoire, and private full bathroom. This room is paneled with original red barn wood from the owner’s great grandparents’ 1901 farm, founded in Moses Lake, Washington, and is named after the Blue Mountain larch flooring. The flooring, which the owners purchased from Blue Mountain Lumber Products in Pendleton Oregon and hand-sanded themselves, can be seen throughout the first floor.

Architectural Highlights

As you enter Redband Lodge, you’ll immediately notice several distinctive architectural features that make this space truly one-of-a-kind:

  • The hand-carved arch over the dining room table, creating a natural frame for gatherings
  • An open floor anchored by “Big Red,” a massive inset Douglas Fir
  • Expansive views of Tygh Ridge through three sets of handcrafted French Doors
  • Three extra-large decks for outdoor living, dining, and stargazing
  • The impressive ridge log spanning over 50 feet on the second floor, originally supported by Big Red and a branched Ponderosa pine on the second floor

On-Site Property Maintenance

The Redband Lodge property includes seasonal flower and vegetable gardens, which we are continually developing. In addition, we maintain defensible space (wildfire mitigation), check river conditions and water temperatures, and do other property maintenance, so you’ll occasionally see property managers on-site, but they will always maintain distance from the lodge and guest areas, and will notify you in advance and ensure your privacy is respected.
